I wouldn't be surprised if it disintegrated. Wiring harnesses are a mess on 1gs.

Tell me about it. When I do my rebuild Im gonna do a serious wired tuck. Im talking no wires visible in the engine bay period.

Reason i said that was because a couple of my 1gs had the connector taped to the wiring harness. Not sure if it came like that from the factory or what.
